The Integrative Neuroscience Initiative is the study of neuroscience that works to unify functional organization data to better understand complex structures and behaviors. The relationship between structure and function, and how the regions and functions connect to each other. Different parts of the brain carry out different tasks, interconnecting to come together, allowing complex behavior. Systems neuroscience works to fill gaps in knowledge that can largely be accomplished with data sharing to create an understanding of systems, currently being applied to simulation neuroscience-computer modeling of the brain that integrates functional groups. Yet systems neuroscience is not integrative since the former provides a false sense of realism as multiple-scale approaches cannot harness bridges across the scale.

Objectives

Integrative Neuroscience Initiative is a grouping of international scientists to solve problems through integrative models of complexity arising from neuroscience data that underpin fundamental research in the neuroscience field.

Our mandate is to move beyond the limits of national institutions by utilizing networks of scientists and researchers from across the world to solve problems in the neurosciences. The Corporation matches globally acquired talent of scientists to provide solutions to institutional teams of principal investigators in collaborative ventures through acquired funding and future funding opportunities worldwide.

Background

Integrative Neuroscience Initiative is a business arm of the Journal of Integrative Neuroscience™. The Journal is a registered trademark of Roman R. Poznanski, the founder and Chief Editor. The inaugural issue appeared in June 2002 as the Journal of Integrative Neuroscience (JIN) published by Imperial College Press – a subsidiary of World Scientific Publishers. Recently, a leasing agreement was set in motion with IMR Press—an open access publisher registered in Hong Kong.  In 2020 JIN received an impact factor of 2.11. Today JIN is continuing to expand. Within the auspices of the research plan set out in the Chinese Brain Project is helping to spur the next decade of excellence based on both quality and inclusiveness in scientific publishing.
